So much for playing geographically. At least it's a game where we should have a chance since it looks like they have a losing record. Let's get a W.

Some strange seeding in the NIT. San Jose got seeded and so did Bonnies. We blew the Bonnies out and finished higher than they did in A10. The whole NCAA post season is whacked!

OUr Kenpom was not so hot...109.....about 5th or 6th in A10 and Bonnies were ahead of us I believe...our non-con schedule killed us in kenpom. There was a weird structure to home assigned games. a lot based on where you stood in your conference after taking out the teams in the dance.

In these NIT games, home court goes to the higher seed.

This year they changed it to a lot of exemptions for certain conferences. For example if you were the top ranked team in your conference (selected conferences) not to get an bid to the dance you got home court advantage. San Jose State is ranked below us.
The NIT's board announced new qualification procedures for their 2025 tournament, which includes bids going to 16 "exempt" teams, as well as others that may qualify automatically as regular-season conference champions.

Exempt teams include the top two teams not selected for the NCAA Tournament from both the ACC and SEC. Additionally, the top team not selected for March Madness from the top 12 conferences (based on KenPom rankings) will receive an exempt bid to the NIT. All teams who receive an exempt bid are guaranteed the opportunity to host a first-round game.

Decided to do a quick analysis, thought this was pretty interesting. With the advent of the CBC, seems like the NIT is dropping in prestige. For reference, we are currently #108

The NIT is definitely dropping in prestige - given that the CBC is geared toward the P5 conferences. But having said that.....did you notice that George Washington got a spot in the CBC? That would be 8th place in our conference George Washington.
