We're #1 in the nation! Er, kinda. We tied with UCLA for the #1 spot, but we got more votes for the top spot (11) than UCLA (5). What does that mean, that some voters had us at #4 or below on their ballot? I guess West Coast bias is pretty deep in men's volleyball.

How cool is it to be ranked #1 in the nation!

I gotta think that with our remaining regular season schedule being relatively easy, we will wind up with a very good win-loss record, so that even if we don't win the MIVA Tournament, we stand a very good chance of getting an at-large bid to the Final Four.

If we make the Final Four I definitely plan to be there at the Joe.

Take care of business in the conference tournament like last year, we're good to go. But in the next best scenario, you're right swella. Get that good record and we have a chance at the at-large. But now there are two at-large bids in the new 6 team NCAA Tournament. So both at-large bids get a birth in the quarterfinals/play-in game.

Great accomplishment! We should all be proud of them.

Let's win the MIVA and then get another national championship banner for Gentile!

The next two matches will have a major impact on whether the team will be able to maintain this lofty ranking. Ohio State is always tough, and Lewis in Romeoville may be the toughest test remaining during the regular season.

A three-set victory over #15 Ohio State this weekend should assure the Ramblers stay at the top, but the West Coast bias was evident in the last poll. (Co#1 UCLA beat unranked UC-San Diego in three sets and #8 UC-Irvine in four).

Loyola plays at #10 Lewis on Wednesday.

Will we be #1 alone, or did UCLA pass us?
