Shockers are next up !! Now what do we do ?? YIKES !!

Nothing to lose--except the game of course--I say we let it all hang out especially early--Run like $#^&# ! If our shots drop early , we then have a chance--Just forcr them to run. It might work IF our shots drop. At present our DEFENSE looks tired and leaky--Should normally rely on it , but not now--too tired and short-handed--I think--
PM will probably not do this--too set in his ways. BUT if there ever was a time to gamble, well now is the time- IF we had more players , his way would do just fine--but we do not--SO Gamble---What the heck !! Key is however-- our early shots must drop. Easier said than done.

Its miracle time guys !! AND THIS IS TRULY GETTING OLD !

It honestly feels kind of refreshing to just rely on a miracle rather than better defense against the drive, better shooting, better offensive sets, etc. The team still has yet to teach 9 wins. I see nothing better than embracing a strategy worthy of a team that is thoroughly out-gunned, out-sized, and out-everything-else'd.

Run through a liberal rotation favoring athletic players with high energy on defense. Get out and RUN. Jack up threes and hope they go in. We cannot beat them conventionally. I hope we don't try. If they can shut Milton down again, the Ramblers don't have a chance. If we try scoring through a triple-teamed Christian Thomas again, I'm going straight to the bottle. Any action inside should be designed to collapse the defense and open up some space for shooters. So Swaggy T, please channel your inner Ray Allen. Hell, Nick Osborne needs to channel his inner Dirk too.

So, yes, it all comes down to a miracle. I just hope Porter remembers that David didn't beat Goliath mano a mano. He took up a safe distance (perhaps close to three-point defense) and just started chucking.

I like this analogy.

This entire thing is getting OLD really old ! Rome was not built in a day and ya da ya da !!

WE should be the ones dictating to Wichita as in 1963--NOT the other way around. Of course back then they popped us !! I wonder......NAH !!!

Other teams are progressing--We are doin' the opposite--Sad but true.

BTW , if they do shut down Milton, it will be a drubbing of huge proportions !!

I like my "Miracle" solution. SAD !

Honestly this game scares me more than any game left on the schedule. You seem a lot better at home. You guys are pretty quick and if you come out the gate aggressive like the 2nd half in Wichita then anything can happen. I like Doyle a lot.

This WSU team is focused and doesn't usually make a ton of mistakes. The key is to really pressure the guards and be super aggressive. If you do that, who knows.....

There you see, What a difference the MVC is than that Horizon--especially at the top !! I cannot remember any DAWG fan coming to RAMBLERMANIA and write what these Shocker fans do . All we ever had from them was vitriol--except for Arch and one or two others--MVC is Class all the way by comparison--

Shocker fans are backing a proven winner and are true sports--The Butler whatevers used to grind it in ---in my opinion.

Do I want the RAMBLERS to win ?? Of course I do--If Wichita prevails so be it--I will and am behind them (after and before upcoming tussle), something I never was where Butler was concerned--THAT is the difference for me --MVC vs HL !! During the NCAA it surely will be fun rooting for our Pals from WICHITA !!

As was the header in a different thread "The far turn" the Valley is winding down. I would imagine that in all conferences this is where the grind of conference play becomes apparent. LU has won some games and lost some that surprised me. I would have really liked to have made my first road trip to LU this week but my wife's health won't allow it. That being said I hope many of you can make it to St Louis for the tournament. It is a great place to watch BB and has quite a few venues to entertain you beyond BB. Never under estimate what support for your team means to a young team and staff. Coach Marshall's first year in "The Lou" after they had lost on Thursday and coach had been tossed for picking up his 2nd T, the team was having their meal at the team hotel in a banquet room adjoining the bar area. Several of us were having an adult beverage when coach walked through and noticed us sitting there. He stopped and made a bee line for our table and thanked us all for our support. The then said " Give us a little time and I think we can figure this out". I think he figured it out. Anyway its tough to lose but keep supporting your University and the young men and women that represent their respective sports. Good luck the rest of the way except for your next game.

POGO nice post. Gives me a little perspective. I am going to come back in off the ledge. I am thinking, hoping that youth is the answer here...but we have a lot of ???????marks. Glad we are in the Valley. Nice to have the Shockers carry the flag to the national scene . We are hoping for our chance soon. I will be at the game on Wednesday and I am 3-0 this year so watch out.

Shockers are up to #3 in the AP Poll with Arizona's loss at Arizona State on Friday. They're still #2 in the Coaches Poll.

Wednesday's game will be the highest ranked opponent at home since #2 Michigan State on December 9, 2000.
