The teams that Loyola shares votes with for #1 both lost last week. #2 UCLA and #3 Pepperdine both lost one of their two matches last week. Meanwhile #1 Loyola has been cruising, losing only one set out of their last 6 matches (a total of 19 sets), and that was on the road at #10 Lewis-- a team that is probably underrated at 9-3 overall, with their only losses coming against UC Irvine, Stanford, and Loyola.

The new AVCA poll will be released today at 2 p.m. Central.

Congratulations. I noticed your ranking while on your basketball site. I watched USC and UCLA on TV a couple of weeks ago and was somewhat disappointed at the lack of butts in the seats. I am a big fan of the WSU womens volleyball and had the opportunity to play golf with Chris Lamb our womens vb coach. I asked him the biggest difference between the mens and womens games (besides the obvious) and he said it was much like mens and womens tennis. The mens game is about power and the women more volley and finesse. I do like a good mens game and I believe we have hosted the mens national team the last couple of years for an exhibition game. Very impressive. Anyway congratulations again and I will be rooting for you in ncaa play. Oh by the way I didn't even notice the volleyball lines on the court during the basketball game but I guess you have to be pretty anal to let that bother you.
