A question for 63 o Sub, or anyone !!

Whay is our tourney played early rather than thge week of 'Seed Sunday" Being early gives me the impression that we are not as important a Conf than say==West Coast or others. We surely get less Publicity this week. Thank Heavens for this editionb of WSU , or we would get even less.

What are the advantages of going early as we do ?

Advuse--anyone !! Thanks !

I would guess that the timing allows for the conf. championship game to be on CBS

TV $$$. But it has become kind of neat, Arch Madness is kind of the unofficial kickoff of March Madness.

However, I think having it a week earlier now gives a team like Wichita a strong advantage. Teams from Big Leagues might play 3-4 games between Thurs-Sun, then travel Weds to play Thurs. A few coaches like Donovan from FL hate the current setup.

WSU, on the other hand, has time to get rest & get healthy and put in a few new wrinkles if they want.

I think it's a great setup. You've got a compact, four-day tournament ending early enough on Sunday that people who make the trip can get back to work on Monday. You've got the national TV component that you wouldn't get a week later competing against the BCS conferences. The play-in games, which are no longer limited to 16-seeds (last year they included 11 and 13 seeds, which any team besides Wichita State might have been) happens on Tuesday and Wednesday, so there could be as little as 48 hours notice including travel before a team might have to play in Dayton.

OK !! I guess I agree--

In this year's model. the MVC is represented by whaty I feel is the best in WSU--Will not always be like this-- Hopefully we will have more than WSU next season.

I was looking at it from a prestige standpoint--BUT IF the MVC is comfortable ion its own shoes--Fine by me.

In future the MVC must field at least three in the Dance--Big order I know--but this really is the true way to resonate--date of Tourney notwithstanding .

So--All of us let's get crackin'-- !! Starting with the RAMBLERS !!

It's all about getting the game on national TV on CBS. We are the focus of college basketball and not dwarfed by the XII or ACC or B1G.

There have been debates on if it's good or bad for the team(s) that make it. Do they get rusty? Do they lose any advantage of playing well and then sitting? Is the rest worth it? I think this is our best option from a publicity standpoint. No matter what we have, the conferences mentioned above will always receive more TV time.

With that said, what a brutal bracket the Midwest is.
