I know they expanded the Dance a tad--BUT please advise why two number 12 seeds had to play in rather than say two 15s or two other sixteens !! Thanks |

The 4 play-in games feature the lowest four seeded teams, usually AQ's, in two of the games. The other two games are the last four at-large selections, which are typically on 11 and 12 lines. I kind of see the logic? Part of it, I'd think, is to increase attention in the first round by having bigger name teams... |

The other weird thing this year is that three of the play-ins are in the Wichita region. It really is loaded - it has 19 teams! |

Personally I think all the play-in games should be at-large teams. I think those who get the AQ should get an automatic entrant into the tournament. And nobody really considers the first round, the first round. |
