Rambler63 has asked me to announce the following changes to Ramblermania, which are effective 4/1/14.

1. Premium Content. In order to raise revenue to defray increasing administrative costs, certain content of Ramblermania which has heretofore been free will now be considered 'Premium" and will require a paid subscription to access. Such content includes featured stories appearing on the home page, and posts by swellafelon. The annual charge to receive Premium content is $25.00, and may be paid via PayPal to: Swellafelon@AOL.com.

2. Moderation. In order to present a unified voice regarding issues relating to Loyola athletics, Ramblermania will become a moderated message board. All posts will be reviewed prior to publication to assure that they express a viewpoint consistent with the editorial policy of Ramblermania, as determined by the Moderator.
The Moderator shall be swellafelon.

3. Media. It is the policy of Ramblermania to encourage the use of animated gifs, jpegs and embedded Tweets in place of text, wherever possible. The goal is to transition to a text-free message board by 4/1/15.

4. News. All posts containing noteworthy news regarding Loyola athletics, including the commitment of recruits, personnel moves within the Athletic Department, etc. shall be posted by the Moderator only, who shall receive full and exclusive credit for breaking such news.

5. Emeritus Status. Posters who have reached the age of 80 shall be placed on Emeritus Status, and their posting privileges shall be restricted to making the occasional complaint about "oxen ball".

6. Home Page. The tagline "A fan site for the Loyola Ramblers" shall be changed to "A fan site for Loyola Ramblers, featuring swellafelon". The Contact/About link shall redirect the user to swellafelon's Amazon Loyola Sports Memorabilia Storefront.

7. Posting Levels. The following posting levels are hereby established: 0-250 posts = Cully Payne @ DePaul; 251-500 posts = Cully Payne @ Alabama; 501-750 posts = Cully Payne @ Iowa; 751-1000 posts = Cully Payne @ Loyola; 1001-1250 posts = Grace Calhoun @ St. Francis; 1251-1500 posts = Grace Calhoun @ Dartmouth; 1501-1750posts = Grace Calhoun @ Indiana; 1751-2000 posts = Grace Calhoun @ Loyola; 2001-2250 posts = Grace Calhoun @ Penn; 2251 and up = Cully Calhoun.

More changes may be on the way, which will be announced here.

8. Yearly Performance Review. The Moderator shall review each member's message board performance in April, and assign each member a letter grade. Eighty percent of grade shall be determined objectively, based solely on the cumulative yearly tally of positive Smilies the member has posted in response to the Moderator's posts. The remaining twenty percent shall be purely arbitrary, capricious and an abuse of discretion (also vindictive).

1a. Swella places revenue funds in escrow on behalf of Ramblermania, Inc. and users. Fee is monthly for users with a defined 'net worth'. For others, it is a one time fee. When Loyola makes the Dance, Swella uses funds and interest gained in escrow account to rent a 40' RV and drives Ramblermania, Inc. users to location of opening round game!

Two additional changes for Ramblermania --

A new organization of the messageboard requires a new name. I suggest "Swellafelon's Ramblermania." An alternative name reflecting the folks at UPenn's view of our fan base could be "The Mighty Ramblin' 26."

We demand a season-end review. I suggest "The Best of Swella, featuring the Loyola Ramblers."

One REAL change to Ramblermania is the brand-new Forum devoted to the Rambler's men's volleyball team, who are primed to win the NCAA championship.
