Robinson, of course, is the brother of Michelle Obama. He was recently fired as the head basketball coach at Oregon State. I think he would make an interesting candidate for Loyola's AD, given his Chicago roots, business background, political connections, and coaching experience. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Robinson_(basketball) |

If he (or whoever) gets hired, somebody send him 63's podcast. He'll have no choice but give him a weekly radio show. |

Robinson ?? Wow ! darned interesting-- Swella's report on him-- ---Business background--excellent point for him---Grade A ---Michelle's Brother--Can't help who your relatives are--sad for him and so what? Grade D - ---Political connections--Might help--Grade B ---Chicago Roots--excellent---Grade A + ---Coach qualifications-- not so hot --Grade C - But not knowing what LUC is really looking for, he might just work out--If he has what LUC wants in an AD |

Just what we need: a guy who failed at his last job. Get real. |

Quote: Craig Robinson is sharp in many ways. He’s good with donors, as his campaigning helped fund a $15 million practice facility that opened last summer. He’s good with the press. Really, he’s ideally suited to be an athletic director. Some school with a future opening for an administrator would do well to look his way. http://college-basketball.si.com/2014/0 ... gon-state/ |

Well, there you are--- As for the opening argument for consideration of Robinson, the five points Swella listed were pretty darn good except of course Oregon St as Coach---but then Coaching is not germane I would think--- His being a relative of Mrs Obama --why bring it up ?? Useless in this case---Maybe if he were to be a Ward Alderman or Chgo Dog Catcher or the like, yes --- BUT the rest in the opening statement would help immensely I would think---- Plus what is now reported by Swella --Well. are these items pretty much what an AD must have strength in ??? I think, yes . Now then I wonder if an application from this gentleman is sitting on Fr G's desk===Hmmmmmm ! |
