Ramblers add size to their frontcourt with 6-foot-9 Finnish prospect. http://www.loyolaramblers.com/sports/m- ... 14aaa.html What are your expectations? High? Low? Regardless, pretty interesting that Porter did some international recruiting. |

An interesting pickup, indeed. Be curious if anyone on here who follows the scouting scene knows anything of the guy. Regarding expectations, I personally have no clue. 5 scholarship returners and 7 new (I think). That's going to take a fair bit of getting to know each other. Can White and Turk make a jump? Doyle is a great talent and can be a lot better. Hopefully he'll have added to his game come the fall. Thomas and Crisman probably are who they are at this point and we know what to expect (I don't say that with any type of insulting tone, by the way). |

If one half of what in this article is true it sounds like a brilliant pick-up. I've been waiting for years for Loyola to look overseas for a possible big man. It has worked well for many other teams. I am started to get excited for next season! No where to go but up! I hope!!!! |

I expect him to ride the bench and for Porter to never develop him (see: Jeremy King) |

He sounds a lot like Matt O'Leary. I agree that it's cool for Loyola to sign an international player. Valpo has had pretty good success with them over the years. I would think Loyola should be at least as attractive as Valpo for an international player, given our location in a world-class city. All in all, I think this is a good move by Moser. I wonder just how it came about. My guess is that there's some sort of "broker" who helps place international players with U.S. colleges. |

I'm also surprised we haven't had more international players. The last one that sticks out for me is Hubert Radke, who showed a lot of promise as a freshman but bailed out after the miserable 2000-01 season. And then there was Kye Pattrick for two years, who was OK defensively but left a lot to be desired on offense. I guess you could consider Majak Kou foreign, but Canadians are scouted a lot like Americans. Overseas, Jesuit schools are in some places thought of at the same prestige and academic level as Ivy League schools. St. Louis has had a couple of important foreign players the past few years (Cody Ellis, Rob Loe); Gonzaga has two Canadians, a Brazilian and a Pole. |

Well. I figure we still have a Scholarship to give--Correct ?? If so. I would like a 6'4" point guard who can run the floor and hit 10 pts or so a game. I do believe we are in fairly good shape--It is now up to Porter to coach them to some big wins/\. |
