I guess I was wrong a month ago when I said the posting of the job on Loyola's site was a mere formality, and predicted the job would be filled shortly.

The fall semester starts in a month. I would hope the administration hires an AD before then.

I was going to post this elsewhere, but the AD conversation may be relevant...

The MVC has posted their dates and locations for conference championships, and Loyola is not hosting any of them as I had hoped.

You'd think we'd be a natural for volleyball. I don't know if the lack of an AD had anything to do with it, but it could be a factor. I'd really like to see us get into the conference tournament hosting process as soon as possible.

The AD job posting was removed from Loyola's site today.

Thanks for the "heads up" guys !! I truly do wonder why it takes so darn long for LUC to get things done--Our Hoops schedule is not out as yet as we all are aware---SHEESH !!!

Brot - It could be worse. Marquette's AD resigned in, I believe, December. They finally formed a search committee a couple months ago in the hopes of hiring someone by this December. Of course, I think they were without a president for a long time as well. Maybe they still are. And their basketball coach left the husk of the Big East for the coaching job at Virginia Tech.

PS I have UNI sweeping Bradley.

Thanks for input--I guess LUC is being super careful--BUT thishas gone on for months. The Warriors, Hilltoppers, Golden Eagles or whatever they are these days, had done well in their conf , but I believe they will soon be back on earth as will Creighton---You know we just could be doing this the correct way--both in our choice of Conference and the new AD whomever that person will be.
Our recruits look good and able--It is now up to PORTER to get these guys winning.

We all know LUC is a great learning institution--Athletically we are rising --see Gol Track-Firld and above all VOLLEY BALL--I truly would be great to see our Hoops teams rise---I believe both are doing so--Its a beginning-- Again I say, our Hoops recruits look good--our returnees are for sure---Only thing is Shockers, Sycs and the rest are sitting still.

Although we would all like to see the AD position filled as soon as possible, I am pleased with what has happened since Grace Calhoun left in May. First, Shane Davis, Loyola's most successful coach, was signed to a new five year contract.
Secondly, Sheryl Swoopes who appears to have put together a very talented team for next year was given a contract extension. Then four days after the head softball coach announces her departure a replacement is named. Susan Malisch is certainly using her skills as a VP and CIO to get things done in the Athletic Department.

What are you talking about?
Why in the world would you give a coach with a losing record an extension?
None of Loyola's women's teams are coach by a woman except Swoopes. What a great example of diversity and title IX.
If those are skills I can't wait to see what's next.
How about wifi or a cell booster in the gentile or a game app for starters for a skill set of a cio.
