No new prospects have given LU a verbal commitment since Maurice Kirby, but we're already behind all the other schools in our recruiting as well. Below is a quick look at available scholarships for next season. NIU and BU still have a spot to give. We have 2. Everyone else is done for the fall recruiting season.

I do not profess to know the ins and outs of recruiting--but it surely looks as if PM cannot coax players to come to LUC this season. This hits him in his wheel-house--recruiting. Maybe prospects are looking at his record of wins-losses.
-He MUST win this year--NOW--if the Powers that be are factual in truly wanting LUC to win in Men's Hoops. If he has another opoor year, and Fr G truly demands a winner, PM will be a goner--contract and all.

Wichita is at 0, but we're still actively recruiting what appears to be at least one if not two more spots. I think Marshall is expecting Ron Baker to stay healthy and have the year that many are expecting and to leave after this season. If Baker plays as well as expected, or better, he should end up being at worst a mid 1st round pick and that would be hard to pass on, especially if he already has his degree. Then it wouldn't be unheard of for another person to choose to leave based on playing time and being recruited over.

I'm not sure what Moser's issue is as recruiting is his strong point. Maybe the record and mass defections has raised some red flags for kids considering Loyola. He needs to bring in a couple bigs and seems to be struggling to do so.

You can not control kids. I know Smart will be here this weekend for a visit. I think Moss is coming soon too.

Kirby was not listed on Verbal Commits until he committed.

We are now getting Chicago players while before we were never considered.

Smart would be a nice get for us. Break up the Sunrise/Wichita St. pipeline. Moss too, though I think we'll have some serious high major competition for him.

I'm hoping swellafelon is on the case to figure out if there's any reason to think we will sign Smart.
