Milton Doyle was named to the preseason team as an Honorable Mention selection. Drake beat out Loyola by one point for 9th place in the poll.

10th may be too high if Milton is out for the year.

Illinois State received one first place vote, that coming from their coach, Dan Muller, according to ISU's fan message board.

Our old friend picked us 9th! Woo! Things are looking up! Blue skies and all that! (sorry, Brot's exclamation points are contagious)

I'm predicting Moser wins MVC Coach of the Year award!

Best case scenario:

- Doyle only misses first five games, doesn't need surgery, matches or exceeds freshman year performance.
- Somebody (Jeff White, Joe Crisman, etc.) assumes more leadership and begins to score more consistently.
- One or more of the newcomers in the frontcourt (Montel James, Donte Ingram, Julius Rajala) is a revelation offensively, defensively, or both.
- Better speed and athleticism makes up for loss in height, experience, and strength in frontcourt.
- Ramblers win a few games on the road, and at least one road conference game.
- No serious injuries, no barefoot blizzard walks.
- Loyola goes 18-12 overall (including the two non-DI games), 7-9 in conference-- good enough for a 6th place finish in the league ahead of Drake, Bradley, Indiana State, and either Illinois State or Southern Illinois.

Worst case scenario:

- Doyle misses the season.
- The seven (!) newcomers get schooled, game after game.
- The short, thin, undermanned, and inexperienced frontcourt is a sieve defensively and/or thoroughly demoralized on offense.
- Either Jeff White or Christian Thomas is injured.
- One or more of the key newcomers has bad fall grades.
- No one dares (or cares) to show on-court leadership.
- Loyola goes 4-26 overall on the season, 1-17 in conference (a home win vs. Drake?) to become the poster child for MVC flops in the 21st Century.
- Coach Moser vows more boot camps for 2015-16, as the Interim AD lauds "his perseverence and character through difficult circumstances."
