Strong has been discussed on Ramblermania before. A 6'2" guard originally from Chicago, he was in our sights all the way back to the Whitesell era. He has taken a circuitous basketball journey, bouncing from Chicago to a Minn. high school, then to an Iowa prep school, and currently a freshman at Coffeyville CC, where he is a teammate of Rambler recruit Maurice Kirby. I'm not sure if he was a qualifier coming out of prep school, so I'm going to assume not, and that consequently he would be a target for 2016.

The reason I'm posting about Strong now is that he is absolutely tearing it up at Coffeyville, averaging over 23 ppg, shooting over 50% overall, 47% on threes and over 80% on freebies. This makes him the 4th highest scorer in the junior college ranks.

He is starting to draw interest from some high majors, who have come out to watch him play, but I think we might be a player in his recruitment given our early interest in him, the fact that he's from Chicago, and the fact that he is in the same Coffeyville pipeline that produced Montell James, Earl Peterson and Maurice Kirby.

I definitely think Strong should be a recruiting priority for Moser, especially since he plays a position of need.

James and Peterson need to preach about the Strong cvulture here at Loyola. He wouldn't darrion sign with another school after that pitch!

I guess there is a chance he comes here but I don't see it happening. If he had our offer before going juco I just feel that means he is not that interested in Loyola and wants bigger offers.
