I think being totally underestimated has been good for at least two or three of our wins this season. It's amusing to read the opposing teams' message boards after their losses to us, bemoaning losing to such a lousy, inferior, or small team. They turn on their coaches, point to their injuries, second-guess strategy, or zero in on other excuses-- not too many have said "wow, those guys are good." There's also healthy skepticism of our team all around college basketball. That's why we dropped out of the mid-major top 25 after losing to #23 Northern Iowa. Now we're giving bulletin board material to a team that's won 24 consecutive games against conference opponents? OK, but remember, these are the guys who relish playing angry. |
