According to Verbal Commits and JUCO Recruiting, we've offered Walter Wright of Waterbury, CT and Snow College in Utah. Wright, not the big body that most on this board are looking for, is a 5'10/5'11 pure point guard whose quickness would not look out of place on the current Ramblers team. If he comes to LU, he will be probably split duties with Jeff White (and Milton Doyle who this season has been doing much of the heavy lifting bringing the ball up and starting the offense) for his first year and take over the role for next year. Wright also has offers from North Carolina Central, Canisius, Montana, Portland State, and Detroit (who like us just offered him today). He's probably a stop gap at the position considering we're probably out on Roosevelt Smart and might not be making that much headway on Harrison Niego and Nick Rogers

EDIT: He was lightly recruited out of high school by Maine, Quinnipiac, Morgan St., Central CT St., and a couple of D2 schools. I think height had a lot to do with it. http://nehoopnews.com/news/walter-wrigh ... K8nQ3uZqSo

I watched some of his video. He's very quick, with good handles and a very good passer. He looks a little off balance on his jump shots. Likes to drive and dish off underneath. He is putting up great numbers at his junior college.

But he looks even shorter than his listed height of 5'10/11". I'm wondering what it was to cause Loyola and Detroit to both offer him at the same time. And I wonder what this offer means with respect to our chances for Niego and Rafferty.

From what I've seen Niego should take the ride offer from LU. I still think his brother has big upside to his game. The monkey wrench in all this is they are related to the Payne's and who knows what that really means

Niego is related to the Paynes? Well there's everything I need to know about him. Pass

Related to the Paynes? That is a sticky wicket.

Niego and Rafferty square off against each other tonight at 7:30 at Hinsdale Central. If I can get my ass off the couch I might go watch.

Are migraine-inducing posts becoming a specialty of yours, Go?

Swella
If you haven't seen a LT vs HC game go. They are special and in my opinion the best in the state as a rivalry game goes.
