On the fouling with a three point lead question, everybody's favorite philosophical hoops question...
1. How many times this year have you seen us (with our distinct height disadvantage) not get the rebound on a missed free throw?
2. We'd still have to inbound the ball.
3. We'd stop the clock.
4. We're statistically one of the best three point defending teams in the league, although we've dropped to second recently.
5. Seems like a strategy you'd want to have specifically practiced, especially with all the freshmen and newcomers we've had to play.
I'm with you on this. I've been reading about it a bit. There are studies with different conclusions, but it seems like defending rather than fouling is the way to go.
The shooting percentage for teams going for a tying three at the buzzer is something like 16%.
