I am in my usual state--Confusion--Perhaps someone can help.

I read where Lady Ramblers will host a CONSOLATION round of the Women's NIT Hoops tourney ---I was unaware that we were even invited to play in it--If so , when did we lose ?? Do not you have to lose to make a consolation round ?? Or was the loss to Louisvile the loss ??

Help ! Thanks

Loyola was matched up with #5 Louisville (the national runner up last season) in a game Saturday at Louisville. We got probably the worst seeding of any team in the tournament. Loyola, playing without injured 2nd team MVC player Simone Law, was blown out 101-54. All 8 home teams won in the first round, and all 3 home teams have won in the second round. The losers of all the first round games will play in a consolation round. Loyola was chosen as one of the two host schools for the consolation round. Here's the consolation bracket: http://www.womensnit.com/photos/bracket40_2.pdf

So if Loyola knocks off IPFW on Friday, they will face either Idaho or Mount St. Mary's on Saturday in the second round of consolation. The consolation round is essentially to give teams extra playing opportunities to meet the expected number of games on their schedule.
