It is a long shot BUT odds are getting shorter by the day--THE CUBS AND INDIANS will be in the World Series 2016 !!! Cub power--See Bryant and Rizzo and some pitching Jake and Jon against Tribe with superb pitching --all five plus just enough hitting !!
CRIMINY !! I truly am having FUN this go around !!

Special bonus !!--ALL HAIL LEBRON !! The best since Michael

Of all the American League teams, I'm most rooting for the Indians. I went to old Cleveland Municipal Stadium for a game in 1993, the last year it was in use. I loved the huge, cavernous stadium (it was a little bit hard to get in and out of because the access points were necessarily limited, given that you had to cross over a road and train tracks to get down to the lake front), and it seemed like it was in great shape for being built in the early 1930s. I'm not totally sure now, but I think it was THIS GAME:

The Indians had a store where they sold tickets in the Galleria, Downtown. I got a seat between home and first, about 15 rows from the field, and had a great time with two young women I met seated next to me-- we switched off buying rounds of beer and talked about Cleveland. I was in town looking at Case Western for law school.

Well, Gang, it has come down to ONE FINAL GAME !! Hitting vs pitching !!! So long as Kyle holds the fort we can make it happen. I truly hope so--

WHAT A SERIES !!! Tribe is good but I really feel we are better---Baez really could be key !!

GO CUBS !!!

It's gotta be something when your two favorite teams-- neither of which has won a championship in 68 years or more-- are playing in extra innings of game 7 of the World Series. What a memorable and exciting series... Glad those of us over 50 got a chance to see it.

I'd love to hear Brot compare the 2016 Series with the 1908 one, since he lived through both of them...

According to my calculations, this was Brot's FIFTH Cubs World Series (1932, 1935, 1938, 1945, 2016). He was born a couple months after the Cubs lost to Connie Mack's Philadelphia A's in five games in 1929. So he probably remembers 1945 pretty well, and maybe 1938. But he would have been not quite six years old for 1935 and a two year old toddler for Babe Ruth's called shot in 1932.

ONE big YAY !!

Memories !! 1908 ! I did not like Joe Tinker-- Evers and Chance were OK !!

I remember yelling to my Pals down below in our BB field ( I was sick--But I hung out the window and roared that Gabby had hit a game winner in the dark !! Some thirty years later-- 1908 up to that hit
Saw Dizzy win my first attended game
Lor saw her first game-- Hank Sauer hit three out---Cubs won 3 to 2 She complained that the rest should have done such an easy thing !!

More and more memories--and NOW the ultimate !! FINALLY !!!

Now then let the RAMBLERS begin the long way back !!
