A couple weeks ago, Dick Enberg passed away. I remember him as the California Angels play by play guy when I was growing up-- the Angels were my grandfather's favorite team, so I heard him on in the background a lot. I met him once at Anaheim Stadium during batting practice-- very nice guy.

This weekend, Keith Jackson died. College football fans from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s remember him as the distinctive voice of Saturday football.

Enberg was noted for his "Oh my!" exclamation, and Keith Jackson belted out a long "Whoa Nellie...." that could be heard in the next room when something exciting happened. Those are two greats of broadcasting that established high bars for professionalism. As time marches on, we're at a point where we're going to lose some of the greats from the 60s 70s and 80s.
