My enjoyment of this story is tempered only by the fact of his wife's illnesss. I will be following further developments closely.
Thanks for the post, Go! I wonder if you would consider asking JCT for special dispensation to have this thread appear on the main basketball board during this slow summer season, since it presents a topic of great interest to old timer Ramblermaniacs. Your call...

I am not opposed to you asking.

What do you think, JCT?
I'm thinking that it would be a shame if Ramblermaniacs of a certain age who have become casual users (especially in the summer months), would miss this compelling story if it remains buried in the Off Topic Forum.

But I will respect whatever your decision is.

In the meantime, here is a thread from the old Yuku board that foreshadows the predicament Cigarboy finds himself in:

It would be great if he came back as a regular poster again.

From what I have been able to piece together, it appears Cigarboy fell "victim" to an online honeytrap, in which he was contacted by some anonymous catfish (presumably female) who somehow convinced him to send her a solo sex tape of himself (I've seen two references to a corncob being involved...). But instead of the expected reciprocal sex tape from his correspondent, Cigarboy was blackmailed, threatened with disclosure of his sex tape.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if after the body investigating this matter issues its findings, Cigarboy attempts to lay the blame for the honeytrap on his political opponents.

My suspicion is that Ramblin On is behind it...

It's too bad the political side of the old Ramblermania board was scrubbed. That's where Cigar Boy did his best "work"-- honing those talking points daily, sometimes hourly; learning how to use rhetorical jujitsu to turn any offhand comment about sports or weather or somebody's favorite type of automobile into the launching point for a political attack; and portraying his politics and political worldview as inherently superior in morality, patriotism, religion, and culture.

I seem to remember Cigar Boy being worked up in particular about former Rep. Anthony Wiener. But maybe I'm imagining it-- the evidence is gone.

Even so, even acknowledging that Cigar Boy would never squander an opportunity to use salacious personal news against his political opposition, I think it would be perpetuating a vicious cycle to magnify his predicament for no other reason than to gloat or revel in the irony. Hopefully when Sen. Kintner comes out on the other side of this story, he'll remember what it's like to feel under attack. I hope if that's what happens, he'll have a more judicious attitude. I wish him well.

As moderator, I'm not going to stop discussion. He was a frequent poster (several thousand posts) on the old board and even has 7 posts as a member of this board. He's a public figure who has been outspoken in criticism of political opponents who have made mistakes and acted improperly, so it's fair game. But please try to limit your comments to how you would want to be treated under the circumstances, and be respectful to the other posters who have differing opinions on politics and morality.

I heard a second sex tape has emerged, aptly titled "Cigarboy Sucks!".
And three more are in the works: "Sperm Limits", "Cuntstituent Services" and "Make America Come Again".

Now that Bill Kintner is fast becoming an internet porn sensation, he needs a proper porn star name. "Cigarboy" works, of course, but here are a few more suggestions:

1. Bill Skintner.
2. The Nebraska Cornthruster
3. John Doe Nutz
4. Rod Blowguyovich, and my personal favorite...
5. Swellaphallus

Even if this was the case, why would he have fallen victim to it? And if he is willing to fall victim to that, perhaps he can send me a $1,000 processing fee for me to send him the $10 million promised to him by a Nigerian Prince.

Just seems like an excuse to me.

I agree that Cigarboy's primary fault is stupidity. How he fell for the honeytrap in the first place (given the unlikelihood of anybody actually wanting to watch a video of him in flagrante) is hard enough to figure. But why he used a government computer to document his manly prowess with a corncob (as claimed by some) is just inexplicable.

In matters of political sex scandals I am pretty much nonpartisan, and probably much more forgiving than the average voter. It is just so much more satisfying, schadenfreude-wise, when the perp is a conservative who claims to be a defender of old fashioned family values while condemning those who have "alternate lifestyles".
