I'll try not to be my usual longwinded self. Tomorrow night is the regular season home finale for Loyola. It is also Senior Night. The most decorated class in Loyola Volleyball and Athletics history will be honored before the match. It's been a wild few years which saw Loyola win the MIVA three times (the first ever in 2013) and consecutive National Championships with the first on Loyola territory. Peter Hutz, Nick Olson, Trevor Novotny, Redshirt Junior Owen McAndrews, and Thomas Jaeschke are scheduled to be honored although Jaeschke is still in season in Poland I believe. I would also wish to recognize Diego Rodriguez who is no longer on the squad but had been a member the last three years and started the first half of the 2013 season when Loyola won conference for the first time. It's been a fun ride and while 2016 is not over yet, it's just cool to think about everything that has happened with this program the last few years. I'm not sure I'll see anything like this again but never say never. |
