Today legendary and longtime coach Marv Dunphy announced his retirement as head coach of Pepperdine.

This is Mark Hulse's alma mater. I have no clue if they will hire the associate head coach that's been there for 8 years, or hire from the outside. My guess is the person there will get a promotion, but if they decide to look elsewhere, I think Hulse will get at least a call. While he hasn't had the most successful seasons, he's put together some good recruiting classes, and the team is looking like it'll continue to improve.

I guess the old saying goes and we've seen it before, if Pepperdine does make a call, interviews Hulse, and makes an offer, will they make him an offer he can't refuse? Factors to consider... what he's making at Loyola, location (he is a Chicagoan), his wife, etc... Yes he did spend two seasons at Pepperdine. It's possible they may elevate the Associate Head Coach like what happened to Hulse. The only difference is that Loyola had absoulutely no time to conduct a search given a late December resignation as opposed to a June one.
