Down 1 set to 0. USC took the first set 27-25.

Don't blow this, Loyola. This is a golden opportunity to break into the top three in the rankings. Down 13-9 in the crucial third set. Guys have to be tired after playing hard in their 11th set in three days.

All the bounces going USCs way.

Looks like we'll drop this one. 2-1 at home against ranked opponents.

Tough loss! The Ramblers looked a bit tired, but USC also looked very sharp.

Damn. My guess is we're # 4 or #5 in the poll on Monday. It was a golden opportunity--- coulda, woulda, shoulda. There aren't going to be many more opportunities on the rest of the schedule to get wins that could boost us in the top 3, not with the West Coast teams playing each other the rest of the way out. Too bad. Maybe if the game had been scheduled on Sunday to get a day of rest.... My guess is there aren't going to me many more trips by West Coast teams out to the Midwest for as long as they can plausibly delay it.

Oh well, now comes the time to keep heads down and take every match as an individual challenge.

A sweep would have been nice, but still a great way to start the year!
