Loyola drops to #2 in the AVCA rankings thanks to four West Coast coaches ranking Loyola third or worse. Loyola had 11 first place votes to BYU's 6. Loyola coach Shane Davis didn't vote in this week's poll, but even if he had Loyola first and BYU third, BYU would still be #1 on points. The funniest one was UC Irvine's coach, who ranked Loyola fifth and his own team third, despite his team being a sixth seed in the conference tournament and getting knocked out in the first round. If someone wants to say the west coast conference is better, fine. But, I truly don't understand how you vote a team that went undefeated in the MIVA and 2-1 against the west 5th. When the top two ranked teams have faced each other head to head, and one swept the other, the speculation about who is better kind of ends, doesn't it? Especially when the two idiots who voted Loyola 5th both lost to Loyola this year and voted their own teams ahead of us. Can't wait to heckle Chris McGown on Thursday. |

I heard a really good chant a few years ago at a volleyball match. BYU (coincidentally) was here in Alumni's last year. There was a group of students regularly heckling the BYU bench and servers. The chant towards a server was "Virgin! Virgin! Virgin!" |
