Here is another thought , the football MVC Schools form their own separate conference....;leaving Drake, Bradley, Loyola and Evansville to fend on their own. These are 4 private and except for Loyola small schools( Evansville is barely 3,000). My gut tells me that this is going to bring the nuclear option into play for the MVC and everyone will re-evaluate and move in many directions.I guess what I am saying is that LU in its current financial situation will re-evaluate where athletics fits in terms of its larger goals.
Next year will probably go on without WSU but schools will be using the time to explore options. Having grown up in the Valley as a kid in Peoria when the Valley was one of the top 5 Conferences with Cincinnati,St.Louis and Tulsa...I would hate to see it go. The one advantage to staying together is the geography, except for Missouri State everyone is fairly close and I think transportation costs are on everyone's mind
Choices are
1. Valley stays together and adds, stays the same, or others choose to leave,,base remains
2. Valley dissolves and LU looks for another Conference(existing or new) or Division.

Random thoughts. Evansville is not even 3,000 students how do they compete ? No one has mentioned Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (14,000) and already an affiliate member in soccer ?

After all this, could you imagine if we ended up back in the Horizon. Ugh.
