HIS NAME IS DOYLE !!

In my opinion--best we have had since Big Al !

Not a bad comparison. Even though he's a red shirt freshman transfer, I don't think I've seen any kid impress as much as he has in his first four D-I games. He can do it all on both sides of the court. In baseball, they'd call him a five-tool player.

Some thoughts:

1. Doyle is the truth. I am going to enjoy watching him for the next 4 years.
2. Why did Porter put Keke, London and Nixon on the floor at the same time in the first half (for about 1 minute)? What an awful combination. Keke is in because he's good but London and Nixon don't shoot/can't shoot. Why waste the positions?
3. Why did Cody not play against Tulane and not show up in the game until about 1 minute left? What is the point of not playing him? We are going to get killed inside during MVC play without big man play. And our big men aren't going to get better on the bench.
4. Is Pickett still hurt?
5. IN GAME ADJUSTMENTS! I'm starting to get really upset that Porter can't figure it out. Rockhurst was killing us from 3. 55% from beyond the arc? Unacceptable.
6. Why aren't we trying out a "two big men on the floor at the same time" rotation? We are going to need it for MVC play.

All in all, it says a lot that we couldn't put up 90-100 on Rockhurst. I'm getting nervous that we are destined for another crappy season.

Go--I am probably wrong but Rockhurst shot almost .600 from three-land. That will keep any team in a game . Its difficult to guard two three-ballers but Thre is darn near impossible.
I wager we do not see another team do this this season--Maybe but I think not.

Doyle can do it all--One play he was driving --two guys got in front--He merely changed everthing and hit a jumper--Have not seen that in a long time from our guys. He hit over twenty--five assists, some steals and a few blocks with five boards--Nic night's work.

Keke has good eyes--He sees Thomas and then Turk or Doyle.--Excellent --Better teams will stop one or two of these guys--Hard to get all three plus our Bigs !

Now for the West Coast---We are learning --

Wow, I just realized that we go Coast to Coast and North to South this year--Heavy travel budgety, I'd say

RAMBLE ON RAMBLERS !!!

That's a pretty negative take following an 18 point win. Now we are expecting 90 points?

Also, there's research out there (Pomeroy for one) suggesting that a defense can't impact three point percentage all that much. What you can do is prevent three point attempts. We currently rank 135 out of 350 teams in 3P%, which is percentage of field goal attempts that are from behind the arc.

Rockhurst took 5 in the second half tonight. It just so happens that they made 4 of them.

If you want to say they shot 55% from three on the game, okay, but they also shot 38% from two point land.

I was pretty happy with how the game went. 83 points against Rockhurst is perfectly fine with me. I was not really expecting 90 to 100 points. Doyle is great to watch and will be something special. It was good to see Jeremy get 10 minutes this game and they were pretty good minutes. Though I would have liked to see Cody get more playing time. Always great to see Billy get in the game.

Doyle will be watched from here on--Keke and Thomas will be open some then---Doyle appears to be a team player--assoists saty plenty-so that will be OK

It will be neat to see Turk come in as sixth man to drain threes--Love it. Now then King showed some nice minutes--He will be roughed up on defense, but his offense is showing me good stuff--Improving ?/ You bet. We shall not be patsies from here on. The tourney and Miss St will toughen us up--We will win a few of these--

O'leary and Osborne must step on it--I feel that they will.

We will be even better when our injured guys get back.

I like our chances.

The depth tonight (King getting some good minutes, Osborne working his way back in, Turk showing some offensive spark) makes me feel better about the three games in three days coming up this weekend. We really should get three wins this weekend, even against the home team on Friday.

I'll be honest, it's not stand alone. If we had won even one of the road games, I would feel much better about this particular game. Fact is, Rockhurst is a D3 school. We are supposed to dominate these games. Rockhurst hung around all game. Sure, they couldn't push through, but that's what makes me nervous. Our MVC competition WILL push through if we play as we have. Ramblin Ray and I had a conversation at half time...the way we've looked...we may be looking at a long and painful conference season.

I know I'm being gruff but I'm getting sick of losing the same way year in and year out. It takes its toll on a man.

I wasn't there last night - last year one of the Rockhurst big guys suffered a nasty knee injury late in the game. Do we know if he was back on the court yesterday? Hope so!

I have a hard time reading much into a DII game. Hard to gauge progress, all you can try to do is get better. Hopefully LU did that. C Johnson must be deep in the doghouse to have seen a lot of burn against UWM and have seen his minutes dwindle since.

I know, but we won! :)

I hear you though. Those road losses were rough.
