Speaking of seats...(Long rant of limited interest to anybody except me follows.)

We've had the same two seats for many years now in Section 201 Row B. My niece orders the tickets for us because she gets an employee discount.

I had my season ticket card in hand and when I reached the Section 201 upper level I find that Rows A-D are covered in a big tarp with a Rambler logo on it. I asked the usher what gives and he explained that the student section was directly below and since they stand throughout most of the game obstructing the view from above it was decided to block off the first four rows. Great...

I finally looked at my seat assignment on my card and it's the same section, only Row G, which is just about as high as you can go. You need a Sherpa to get there.
You wouldn't think so but there's also a big difference in the view from Rows B to G.
I was mighty pissed and tracked down Brian Day courtside at the media table. I was ready to read him the riot act but it turned out he was a very nice guy and had explained the situation to my niece, who okayed the seat reassignment without telling us.

Brian said he'd try to see what he could do but that almost all the season ticket seats were sold out.

So Brian if you're reading this I hope something turns up. I'd hate to have to invoke the provisions of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and claim handicap discrimination (general age-related decrepitude) and ask for the reasonable accommodation of courtside seats.

Swella, my friends and I are section 201 Rows E & F and had the same question about the tarped off area in front of us. Thank you for the info! Will it be like that all season long??

Can’t say enough good things about Brian Day. Responds quickly, goes out of his way to help fans. He gave me and some friends front row seats for the elite eight game in Atlanta that they had extra of out the kindness of his heart, just a great guy and rambler

I noticed the tarped off seats last night and wondered what that was all about... Not selling those tickets seems odd though doesn't it? That's a lot of tickets made not available.

And I second the Brian Day vote of confidence! He has assisted myself and my family numerous times... I think we are very luck to have him and hope that we can keep him... his arrow is definitely pointing up.

My only negative about the evening was concessions. Specifically the price of beverages. The menu board listed soda: $3. I ordered two and was shocked to get two 12oz cans and was asked for $7. I probably sound super cheap but $3.50 for a can of soda seems absolutely crazy to me!

On top of that still only one cashier... I think they're gonna get SMOKED come opening night!

I agree Brian does a great job, and the fact that he moved swella to the last row only raises his esteem in my eyes. (Though I do hope swella's niece is not unhappy.)

440: Nobody told me, but I assume the tarps will remain all season for men's basketball games unless they change their mind.

Nate: Unfortunately I left my opera glasses in the inside pocket of my opera cape when I did laundry. All the decorative rhinestones fell off and the lenses clouded up. C'est dommage!

You cut me to the quick with your pointed barb! My quest for seats nearer the court is purely altruistic; I am concerned that if I stay in the nose bleed section the referees will no longer be able to hear my helpful suggestions and encouraging words.

My reference to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 shows that my age-related decrepitude isn't limited to the physical but includes the cognitive. I forgot that this statute was superceded long ago with the Americans With Disabilites Act (ADA).

At least the tarps had Rambler logos on them! A few years ago the tarps would have been paint drop cloths from Walmart.

Brian Day came through with better seats for us- much closer to the court and behind the Rambler bench.
I wonder who will get canonized first, Brian or his great great aunt Dorothy Day? Surely the Ramblers making the Final Four counts for one of the three miracles Brian would need.

And a correction. Only the first three, not four, rows in Section 201 are tarped off.
