I think you're probably right. The so-called "search" this week is for show to demonstrate their "due dilligence".

Might as well start on my next poll: Who should we hire to replace Bryan Mullins?

Gotta think it’s Jevon Mamon stepping into the role. Great Chicago/Meanstreet connections

Blers, you've got to wait for the whistle before inbounding the ball.

A premature prognostication violation is two shots and the ball.

My poll on the subject will be up shortly, maybe as early as Monday.

Here it is

“CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Southern Illinois University is looking closer to home for their next head basketball coach.
According to multiple sources, Heartland Sports can confirm that Bryan Mullins has been selected as the next coach of Saluki basketball.
Mullins is the former assistant coach of the Loyola Ramblers men’s basketball team.
He played for the Salukis from 2005-2009.”

Barkeep, are you trying to pull a fast one in your attempt to get a scoop?
It looks like you actually made up part of the quote you posted above. The article from KFVS Radio on their website doesn't say that Mullins "has been selected"; it says "SIU is in the process of trying to make Bryan Mullins" the next Suluki head coach.

http://www.kfvs12.com/2019/03/17/siu-lo ... -position/

That's a big difference. It means it's not a done deal quite yet. SIU may indeed have offered the job to Mullins but there's still negotiations to be had and things could fall apart.

I can't believe you thought readers wouldn't catch your little verbal sleight of hand.

When all is said Mullins will more than likely be the next Saluki head coach. But it's bad form to lie about it just to be first to report the news.

Thanks Barkeep. My apologies....But just to set the record straight why don't you post the link to the "follow up", since, for whatever reason, I can't find it, and Lord knows I've tried.

Nate... Nate...Nate...

Please wait for THE OFFICIAL RAMBLERMANIA REPLACEMENT POLL, coming soon, it seems. It will be fantastic!

To use a non-basketball analogy:

If your current girlfriend is still on life support, it's bad form to start cruising on Tinder.

Hey Barkeep,

Still waiting for you to provide the link to the "follow up" article you cited as the source for the text you quoted. I know you saw my last post where I requested the link since you logged on afterwards at 10:10 a.m.
I am starting to believe maybe my apology to you was premature. It's looking more and more like you decided to double down on your fake quote with a phonier "follow up article".

Something weird is going on at Saluki Insider. First, when I tried to connect I kept getting an Internal Server Error Message.
Then, when I finally got through, I found that the entire thread on Bryan Mullins' purported hire had been deleted.
Are they scrambling in the wake of some contrary information?
