Tee many toonovers !! But we are spreading the scoring around--With a tad more drive and less nonchalance we shouls come away with a win at home. Watch Doyle .

No O'Leary? Only Turk, Osborne and Nixon have played off the bench, and very few minutes from Nixon and Osborne.

Looking at the schedule early in the year, this was the one MVC game I would have given us the highest odds to win. Disappointed with the crowd, disappointed with the rotations, disappointed with the game plan, disappointed with the defense, disappointed that O'Leary didn't play (should have been a great matchup game for him), and disappointed in the finishing execution. How many chances to score in the last minute as SIU reeled off six?

I can't tell if there's any pride or shame or other motivating emotions that work with this team. They looked like they figured things out against Missouri State, but there was such an energy and emotional deficit in this game throughout... Impossible to figure...

To be fair, class isn't in session so there were actually more students then I would have expected. SIU crowd was big, drunk, and loud, but I guess that's to be expected. Who wouldn't wanna leave Carbondale whenever they got a chance?

Two words for me: baseline defense. The amount of times SIU, especially number 3, just blew by us on the line for an easy layup or dunk was embarrassing. Cody Johnson was a huge culprit on D. Agreed about the lack of O'leary--I am always at a complete loss about what Porter is doing with his roster.

Getting them into the bonus early certainly didn't help down the stretch, but I also felt like there was some pretty weak officiating. Not that it matters--we didn't deserve to win this game regardless. I guess inconsistency is a hallmark of a young squad but damn this kills any optimism I had after MSU.

I think Bear is right on. Jackson was by far the best player on the court tonight and he's the reason we lost. Couldn't stop him. The baseline was very weak.

O'Leary wasn't dressed so I have to assume he's hurt.

Final stats:

17 turnovers, 8-14 free throws

I'm getting really sick of this same crap. Around the 2 minute mark, I said to my cohorts "we all know how this story ends...we read this book before."

The talent is there and it's being wasted. No excuse for this loss. We are pathetic.

I can't say this enough...I'm getting really sick of this crap game in and game out.

Could be that O'Leary is ill--Tis the season you know.

BUT we will be OK as we go along--We have too much RAW talent to fail in the long run, Examples--Doyle with his all raound play ---Thomas points as always --and DEVON --FIVE three pointers and he is starting to move with the ball.

If ever this was a young team loss , this was it.

Soon we shall be winning this type of game as we learn--Watch the base line for instance

This team is so young that they have to experience everything first and I think the zone SIU play was interesting and gave us difficulty. I am curios if SIU has played zone most of the year.
And I think on our man to man we give the baseline and double team. So either SIU was able to move the help man out or our help man was late helping. I saw at least twice it was our guy.once Turk the other time Johnson.

I just think this team will continue to be inconsistent and that makes it difficult to coach as well . This was definitely not our best game.
My choice is just to keep routing for these guys with the assumption they will continue to get better.
Felt badly that I couldnt get there tonight man we can use some fans.
GO RAMBLERS

O'Leary is injured. I do not know how seriously, but he was walking with an obvious limp.
