It was a team effort.

I'm guessing the MVC network and Fox Sports Midwest is just thrilled they chose to air this game instead of the Wichita State/MSU game

I would have answered your post during the game, but damn T-Mobile couldn't get a decent signal in Redbird Arena.

I walked from my house to the game and back. There was a lot more liveliness in my step on the way there than on the way back.

So Christian Thomas' 33-game streak in double digit points is gone. He scored 8.

Crowd gave a really nice reception to Moser. He got a good round of applause, and there were actually about 80-90 people standing and applauding.

I thought we played great in the first half. But as the press continually racheted up in the beginning of the second half, we lost our confidence on both offense and defense. We committed 19 turnovers to their 12. We shot great from the free throw line, but we didn't try to use that as a weapon and to get Lynch and out of the game until it was too late. Better job on defending the three in the second half-- Zeisloft had four in the first half, and their team only got one the rest of the way.

I'll have some more thoughts later on in response posts from others...

Jeff White played well, as did Milton Doyle.
Doyle's problem though was that he had a bit too many turnovers.

When you score less than 5 points for most of a half, nobody played well. Crap that smells a little less crappy is still crap.

Thanks, but it turns out that you do not win when you shoot under 40 %--Turk had a poor shooting night--Someone else should have picked him up --He has been doing well all year so this time he blew a tire.
White looked as if he had a good line--BUT all those nineteen t/os will do any team in.

Discouraging !!

Having seen what ISU has to offer, their strengths and weaknesses in direct matchups, and knowing that they're 2-5 away from home (including a 15-point loss at Oakland), I still think there's a fairly decent chance we could beat them at home on February 9. Considering that Thomas scored less than 10 points for the first game in nearly two years, Turk was 1-9 from behind the arc, Cody Johnson only had two points, and O'Leary was 0-4 with a goose egg on offense, we could play a lot better, and maybe get a victory with a better game plan.

I'm sorry to say this, but Crisman is not a good D1 player. I know that PM likes him for his character and the intangibles that he brings to the team, but he's not great on defense and can't score! I thought he played better offensively as a freshmen than he does now.

To me, if he isn't going to try and score, he shouldn't get starter minutes. His defense isn't enough to overcome his lack of output on offense. That said, SOMEBODY has to get those minutes! And on top of it, Milt isn't yet good enough to cover the point when Keke is sitting. That's just another hole we have at guard.

I'd kill for some roster stability and depth.

also needs to be careful with the way that we are handling their press...

Our passing has been abysmal lately. (How many passes have we thrown into the stands in the past two games? Must be 10.) Against the press, we can't get the ball into the middle; against the zone, we can't get the ball into the paint. Too much dribbling! Too much standing in one place faking passes left and right, doing nothing to make the defense work.

At least we rebounded pretty well last night. Cody crashed the offensive glass a couple times early.
