I really want to put this one on Moser. Obviously, just watching the game, we don't know the full story... Maybe he's been working with Kennedy at practice and specifically lecturing him about soft fouls, ball protection, etc., and in spite of all that work, Kennedy slipped up. Or maybe it hasn't really been addressed, and Kennedy made a mistake and was over-punished for it... Either way, You can't deny the fact there is a direct correlation between our second half performance and Marquise sitting on the bench.

Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. Uguak should NOT have been on the court there--can't make free throws. Can't do much, really. And then no defense at all as they drive right down the court.

I get we are young. I get there will be growing pains. But this type of loss is completely unacceptable. Benching one of our best offensive players an entire half to teach him a lesson just isn't smart.

I don't think having him out there was ridiculous at all. Take out Bruno and Frank being 2-2 each, Aher has been the 3rd best FT shooter on the team this year thus far.

Stand corrected on Aher's FT shooting. Still not sure if he is a great option to have out there, especially in the last 4 or 5 minutes when our offense went completely stagnant. But I guess with Clemons still out and Marquise in the dog house, not many options for a productive offensive lineup.

When things settle and return to normal, I think our best offensive rotation will be Clemons-Marquise-Lucas-Hall-Krut. I do like Aher and Paxon on defense though. Also liked seeing Welch used as more of a 4 today with Krut/Frank playing. Still not sure where Pipkins fits in.

I think Porter saw the scene in Hooisers too many times where Gene Hackman refused to put a benched player back in when he only had 4 players left. Hickory lost, lesson learned.

Eventually we will make adjustments in the second half. Then we will start winning ball games. Played 36 minutes of decent basketball. We’ll see how the team responds tomorrow. On a positive note, with the 11:00am tip, I was able to get plenty of speedo time on the beach today.

I wish I could say the same, but apparently my office “frowns” upon such a thing. Like MikeH said, lesson learned.

Good thread! Lot of smart posts, even without my participation. Fun just to read and not write once in a while.
