So what do we do defensively? do we double team cockburn? do we hack a shack? run all 3 centers at him ? How about offensively? do we slow it down? try and run and make the big Cockburn run out of gas? Just play straight up? Is neutralizing Cockburn the key? Do we play any different rotations? will this be a big Kennedy game....Is this Welch back in the lineup? or Hutson to help pound him? Can Krut out maneuver him down low....I keep having a vision of Krut winning the game with a 3!!!!!!!

I think Hutson will be seeing more floor time, unless we do something that we should definitely be trying to do: get Cockburn in foul trouble. He’s big, but he doesn’t do much away from the basket, which is hopefully something we try to take advantage of.
I know they hate comparisons to the 2018 team, but there is definitely something that team had that I think this team shares, and showed again yesterday: the ability to take a punch and fight back into the game. That’s something not every team has.
Ultimately, game plan is...do whatever it takes to win. Win.
We had some trouble with GT's speed. That makes me nervous. U of I has some really skilled and FAST guards in Frazier, Curbelo and Ayo. They will be trying to blow by our guys. Need to pack it in and force them to pull up for jumpers rather than drive to the hoop.
I’m most worried about them putting Krut in PnR. Curbelo and Ayo can both run it well with Kofi. Have to imagine we go under and let them take deep jumpers, roll the dice there
I agree on the speed comment. Yesterday, there were more examples than I’d like, especially early on, where our defense seemed to almost be stunned or something, and GT was able to just walk into the paint. The dunks killed me. We have to figure out a way to shut those situations down before they get away from us.

And the answer: double, triple, or quadruple team him. It turns out that he is such a powerful confident scorer that he has never learned to pass the ball. He has 5 assists for the year.
