Cyberstalking Patrick Wallace's Twitter account again. Two very interesting recent follows: Tyreke Key and Patrick Baldwin Jr.

Talented Indiana State guard Key sat out this season recuperating from shoulder surgery. Has one year of eligibility remaining. I read article where ISU coach said Tyreke will transfer.

Baldwin is a 5 ☆ freshman 6'9" small forward who played for his father this year at U. Milwaukee, which he picked over Duke. Only appeared in 11 games because of ankle injury. His father fired a week ago after 5th consecutive losing season. Father was an assistant here for a short time under Jim Whitesell.*

*Edited from original where I erroneously said Baldwin was Moser's assistant. A tip of the hat to 08 Little Birdie for the correction.

Chances remote that either will transfer here but intriguing to fantasize.

Baldwin was supposed to be a one and done, but maybe his season set him back with that. His father coached under Whitesell here btw, not Porter. He's also Northwestern's all-time steals and assists leader. I doubt he's a realistic transfer for us, but we can dream! Key would be interesting...we need scoring.

I guess you missed my edit, even though you quoted it.

Here it is again, bolded and enlarged:

Seems like a guy who tests the waters, goes through the combine/workouts and if he gets a "promise" from a team in the lottery he'll stay in the draft. Without that in hand might behoove him to try and transfer to one of the blue bloods (Duke, Kentucky, NC, UCLA, etc.) who also recruited him.

I don't think there's any reason for Baldwin to come here. If he's a realistic lottery pick he should got to a school that does a good job getting kids ready for the lottery.

Key on the other hand is very intriguing. He could finish up his second bachelors with us lol

The only possible way we could sign Baldwin Jr. is making it a package deal by offering his father a position on the coaching staff. Dan Hipsher could retire (again) after a job well done as Valentine's transitional mentor and Baldwin could become Valentine's special assistant or whatever.

Yeah I see almost no chance of Baldwin coming here, it just doesn't make any sense. He was already at a mid-major program, if he's going to stay in college for another year (which I doubt because he's still listed as a top-25 draft on most draft boards) it's going to be at Milwaukee again or a P-6 program to gain more attention and prove that he can play against top tier talent.
