To your point Rags on the Minor League Analogy, here is mine:
NAIA/D3=Occasional ability to hit low D1, Mid-major or even Power 5 (Loyola NO had their guards go Power 5 after winning the NAIA in an undefeated season a couple of years ago. D2=Showcase for low to mid-major D1 (Max Struss a rare exception, but that was pre this crazy stuff anyway). LOW D1= Showcase for High to Mid-Majors (Henderson at Niagra, Mullins from Denver to NW, etc). IVY : Mid-Major league but is fast becoming a proving ground similar to lower D1. Penn and Harvard both losing dynamic Frosh guards. MID-Major: Showcase for High Majors. High-Major: Showcase for trading down if not playing (Cam Craft to Miami (Oh) from Xavier). And for Trading to another High Major to get a shot at more time (Sallis at WF from Gonzaga) and the Oweh kid leaving Oklahoma is gonna have some major interest.
Bizarre stuff and nothing in sight to change it for the better.
