Susan Malish is certainly using her skills as a VP and CIO to get things done in the Athletic Department.
I agree with 86.
With all due respect to Ms. Malisch , what skills did she acquire in her career as an information technologist that make her qualified to decide who should be the women's softball coach, or that Sheryl Swoopes should have her contract extended?
As an interim AD, her role should have been limited to seeing that the bills got paid, and the quotidian functions of the department got done. Hiring coaches should be left to the permanent AD.
On edit: I am going to have to backtrack a little about Ms. Malisch. Upon further research, I find that she
does have a sports background. She was on the basketball team at Rockhurst, and was an assistant coach at Cal-State Northridge for 3 years before starting her IT career.
