Well, I guess what I am attempting to say is. we win these games . then up we shall go. Recall how we have NOT won these types of games --especially the last couple of years----I do say we are starting the up-swing--eg the win against Bradley in the tourney was a start--or I might say THE start.
Maybe the balance of our 15-15 schedule will prove out to be good for us--BUT whatever it turns out to be, we must now win these-not lose by two three or less points as we have done.
As for the Las Vegas thing, I say we should go at least 3-1 --Against that bunch we could win it. If we do, plus win prior to it, I will be mightily hopeful that we are finally on our way --the valley should then watch out for a real RAMBLER team--We shall see.

Any tournament that guarantees two home games is going to have bad home opponents. On a rare occasion you may get someone whose RPI doesn't start with a 2 or a 3. But the other three teams offer some respectable games. Tech may be a bottom of the XII program, but their RPI will most likely be respectable. Boise has been on an upswing lately and should be fairly good unless I've missed something. Houston has a solid coach and some talent, even though they lost a few high level prospects during the coaching change. But both the MWC and the AAC should help both those teams look good. Both could be top 100 RPI schools. It'll be a good test and I hope your young team is up to the challenge. Lord knows I want to see you guys succeed.

We've played in tournaments where they've given us DII programs so we understand the pain of relying on some of these MTEs. But it's the risk we take unless we can get into Maui, Diamondhead, Atlantis or a few others. I think the one in Orlando (Disney) is an 8 team tournament and maybe one of the Alaska ones. Most offer 2 cupcakes at home and then have the four headlining teams square off while the 4 cupcakes play each other. But at least those usually give us a shot against some solid/good/great teams.

I agree with that. We all want a better schedule, but if you can't do that yet, at least win the games you have.

Rumor has it Jackson State will be coming into the Joe this year. Add to them, Southern Utah and Abilene Christian as our games from the Vegas tournament.

Additionally, Fordham will come in in 2015. As will Creighton.

Porter had Dayton almost agree to a home and home (with them coming here this year) but then they made their run in the tournament and said they would only allow us to play them in Dayton.

According to the Basketball Travelers website, we are looking to start a Home and Home series in Chicago, with Nov. 14, 17, and 25th available. Based on other schools who are looking for games, here's a few I could see coming to the Joe.

1. UWGB - As an old HL rival, I could see them coming to Chicago to start a series

2. Drexel - They're looking for a game, I could see playing in Chicago as a lure to get them here

3. Canisius - A fellow Jesuit school, they're looking for a game

4. SE MO ST. - Looking for a game on Nov. 25, could get LU into the St. Louis market

Any thoughts? Anybody heard of anything new?

I don't think any of those schools fit what Doug Elgin wants in rpi. Our new administrator that athletics reports to, believes we will be able to buy teams with a high rpi to come to the Gentile. I don't even know what to say about that statement.
