One of the first things Watson should do after he gets settled in is to get with the Trib, Sun Times and Herald--and diplomatically remind them that Loyola as a Chicago University at least, should get at least the same publicity as does Notre Dame , NU, and De Pewl. I am aware that the Trib is joined at the hip with the Big 14 and has had and do now have ND connections on staff--BUT so what ?? The name is Loyola of CHICAGO--
Watson should have a crew of assistants that would keep pushing LUC with this MEDIA. It appears to me that if Toni from the Sun Times is not a our game, no one of consequence is---
This has gone on for years and WATSON must do things to correct this. Now then, we must WIN and often--but then what ??? You know , I feel LUC is the single tree in the forest--If it falls does any one hear it ????

Watson and wins are the keys here. (Example--Headline in TRIB internet--Irish beat NAVY to go 2-0 ---WHO cares ?? --Now if ND had beaten say , GTN or someone big , that would have rated the headline)

don't count on it Brot. His first assignment will be to cut expenses and raise revenue. Don't be surprised if a sport gets cut. Loyola also has to contend with the paying of some of its athletes in the near future.

86 !! Well. if that is the case. he might think of cutting ticket prices and advertising that he is doing just that. Minor start but it IS a start.

What Sport to cut ?? Would have to be a "high cost" Sport. That would save funds , but not raise funds---So he had better get at it. Paying Athletes--Well we would not be the only ones affected. State Universities would rule supreme--Why not ? Tax payers would provide for shortages---The matter is SICK. I paid my dues even though I coul NOT run fast or lonmg anymore--An O'Hara I was not back in the day.

I can't vouch for the reliability of this, but I was told Saturday that there might be a possibility we will ADD men's lacrosse.

Lacrosse has been talked about being added for years. And if we add men, we'll have to add women to be Title IX compliant.

If we're cutting a sport, my vote would be golf. I think it's really difficult to compete in a sport when you can only really play it 8 months out of the year here. Plus, we probably spend a decent chunk of change having the teams travel to warm-weather locales to play.
