For those that do not know Yahoo Sports and The Vertical reporter Shams Charania (one of the best NBA newsbreakers in the world) is a current undergrad at Loyola. He might not play basketball for the Ramblers but hes the Rambler with the biggest connection to the NBA.

From my perspective the key is the club sports scene at Loyola. I know that Rugby and Frisbee both have large social circles that make it a point to attend games and show support. If the Athletic Department can leverage the many student groups into attendance they will bring in kids by the droves.

This seems like it could be an issue in the immediate future...but Im not too concerned honestly. The issue would be if it led to an exodus of the closer geographical rivals in the conference.

Brown played for one of my alma maters rival high schools in Cleveland & was quite the talent. I think he'll have a nice game and probably be a bit much for our perimeter defense to handle 79-68 Lobos.

Perhaps its because I am younger but I think we may be past the time where papers are going to help with recruiting. Great season preview, its nice to have legit expectations for this program. If I were a betting man Id put money on them finishing 4th but I really believe they can get into the top 3 & with a strong showing get a NIT bid.

Could Doyle leave at the end of the year? I only ask because I follow the CSU program pretty closely and they seem to lose loads of their elder statesmen (and best players) each year ...
