Here's a site with Maroon and Gold scarves for $6.20. You can also get a Maroon and Gold knit hat for $2.95.

I just put two and two together thanks to Toledo's post.

The maroon and gold scarves are straight out of the Harry Potter movies. That explains why the Wednesday game against Bradley has a Harry Potter theme.

Duh...

The new Joe, yes. I recall the MSU, KSU and many Butler games (the Saturday ones, at least) being near capacity, with the MSU game being above capacity, if memory serves. Those were all amazing. The other game I recall is the UIC game in 2003. When David Bailey found Paul McMillian to put us up, the gym was deafening. Of course, that all drained when Ced Banks hit that long 3 to win it for UIC. Still, the atmosphere was great. Tons of students, many locals. A very good time.

I hope that we see that atmosphere on a regular basis. At a minimum, I'm expecting the Joe to be that way against WSU in Feb.

Was the Depaul game in, I think, the first year of the new arena a sell out? I wasn't there, but the pictures looked like it was, or very close.

I remember the MSU game. That was the year following their National Championship, and the place was packed.

There was a decent crowd for DePaul but not sold out.

I vaguely remember that being a great atmosphere (albeit with a good number of DePaul fans) ... at least until we fell behind 35-9 or whatever it was.
