There's no way Colgate makes it if they don't win their tournament - Patriot league is not a two bid league

If Colgate loses in the Patriot League final, there will be TWO Loyolas in the tournament.

And Belmont from the OVC should not make the tournament as it lost the conference final; low major conferences like those do not deserve a second bid.

Virginia joins Duke as being out of ACC tournament due to Covid. Could still play in NCAAs. Projected 4 seed.

Kansas has withdrawn from the Big 12 tourney due to COVID issues. That makes Duke, Virginia and Kansas. This is turning into a nightmare scenario.

All year, people were questioning having the conference tourneys the week before Madness. Pundits, fans, etc. shouting for conferences and/or the NCAA to modify the schedule so that conference tourneys end / Selection Sunday occurs a week earlier (March 8). That would give 10 days between Selection Sunday and Madness tipoff to isolate, test, etc. Instead, those calls were ignored and they moved forward. Awful.

I rarely agree with Rick Pitino, but he was right about pushing back the season and doing May Madness. The NCAA should've pushed the season back and waited for cases to go down and the vaccine to roll out. Unfortunately, the preferences of TV partners and their big wallets won out.

North Texas just won to advance to the Conference USA championship game. If they win that, it could give our resume a slight boost in terms of seeding.
