I am literally, figuratively speaking, the only fan in the stands. More people went to Trump's Inauguration, that's how small the crowd is.

We are up 37-33 at half. Starters were Custer, Richardson, Ingram, Townes and Jackson. Leberal substitution. Krutwig has gotten big minutes and looks pretty good. Satterwhite played the point for a time. Shanks is dressed but hadn't played. Negron in civies.
Except for Richardson we are 0 for a ton on 3s. If we hit at a normal clip we'd be up 10 or more.

How does Krutwig look?

3 of 19 on threes.... Even Aundre Jackson has put up two of them.

Looks like Townes can make a living driving to the basket and hitting free throws. That's a quality we haven't really had for a while.

If all Krutwig does this year is rebound, make put-backs, and clear the way for Jackson and Townes, we're going to challenge for the top two spots.

Damn near a double double in his debut.

Interesting Custer only took two shots.

Agree on Townes. So important to get to the line.

If we have a normal shooting night, we win by 25 easy. Or I should say normal for last year.

The LU starting the 5 lights (6'5" and under league); it looks like we will have Moser’s 10th or 11th straight losing conference record, if that continues. The player most off the bench is our 6'4" least talented player (Skokna) - but he is a slow mover who looks & plays like the coach, so the more talented players sit.

It looks a lot like last year’s losing team, with Townes taking Doyle’s place.
Up by 4 at half at home against a division 2 team,

Is Shanks injured, or is he just too tall to play for Moser? Well it was good to see he is healthy when he got in with a walk-on for the last 3 minutes.

Is Williamson hurt, or was the coach upset because he got 3 rebounds in 3 minutes (not very guard-like, which is what the coach prefers to see). I guess the coach let him back in the 2nd half when he promised to cut down on his rebounding.

Compliments to Custer & Jackson’s solid play. Also to the team’s FT shooting, Richardson’s 3pt shooting, Krutwig on the boards, and Townes in drawing fouls. In all, Krutwig’s 10 boards in 18 minutes with only 1 foul gave the most hope for the night.

The team’s best 3 point shooters, Richardson & Williamson, were 4-6 from 3 range, while the rest of the team was 1-16. But the 2 point shooting was excellent 21-32. Likewise the 22-24 free throw shooting.

There is hope, but I hate seeing no back up for Krutwig.

Fleet, nothing you said makes any sense. Do you want to edit your post* before more people see it?

Lots of interesting things going on in that box score.... ahunte1 pointed out some. Also:

Despite scoring only one point himself, Custer had the highest plus/minus score from the game (plus/minus is the measure of team score vs. other team while the player is in the game). Loyola outscored Lewis by 27 points while Custer was in the game, thanks to eight assists, two steals, two rebounds, and only one turnover. That is fantastic.

Townes got to the line for eight free throws and hit them all. This is in addition to going 3 for 5 from the field where he wasn't fouled. A few nights ago I looked up the NCAA game Townes played in while at Fairleigh Dickinson and watched it again, just to remind myself of what to expect from him this year. What he offers is another completely different weapon than what we've had for the past several years.

Satterwhite had a good game, with 10 points, 4 rebounds, perfect in four trips to the line, and two assists. If he plays well on defense by keeping his mind in the game and uses his length, he's got scoring abilities and athleticism that offer a different look than a lot of MVC guards.

I like that Krutwig played within himself in his first game and didn't try to do too much. Yet he still had a great stat line-- 10 boards, 9 points in 18 minutes. Having him work well with a high scoring player in the paint (Jackson, anyone driving the lane) is going to be important.

Richardson was the only player with his three point stroke, apparently. He was 3 for 4 behind the arc, and didn't have a FG attempt from two. Great game from the senior leader-- 19 Plus/Minus, 11 points, 2 assists, 2 steals.
