Unlikely that we'll hear anything about this "secret scrimmage" but here it is, per Goodman:

Judging by the size of the crowd, the game against Lewis was a secret scrimmage too.

I heard from someone at the scrimmage today that Northwestern ended up winning by 1, and "we were up by 17 at one point". Can't tell unless you see the game and how the minutes went in, but still sounds really exciting! Northwestern is ranked really high, if we can hang with them we can hang with almost anybody

Sad that they’re afraid to play an official game. We keep playing like this against them behind closed doors, they may never agree to put us on the schedule.

They’ve got no reason to play us. It doesn’t help them if they win, and makes them look really bad if they lose. I don’t see them ever agreeing to a series and for sure they won’t come to the Joe. Right now they are the only area team to make the tournament and they can claim they have the best program in Chicago. Giving us a chance to play them could only prove otherwise.

Exactly right. Although if we keep trending up it wouldn’t hurt them. But they still won’t play us. They’re scared to play us. So is Depaul.

It sounds like it was a very encouraging session. I think the "game" was 20 minutes and the teams did situational work after that.

Power Schools have to micro manage their schedules for rankings and the big invite to the dance. The only cure is for the NCAA to step in and make it more difficult to schedule DIII and DII...I believe in football the put fairly strict guidelines on who the Power5 Conferences could schedule.

Great that we were up by this much but classic that we blew a lead. A few years ago,i remember the ramblers being ahead at half of most of the games. Maybe 2012-2013.

Hope we can hold onto some leads this year. Would love to see lots of rest for our mains and some good scrub time

Agree, Nate. Let's look at last year's schedules to figure out the strategies. NU played DePaul and Chicago State. (NU played UIC in 2014-15) DePaul played NU, UIC (loss), and CSU. UIC played DePaul, LU and CSU. For the most part, NU is playing teams that will really help the RPI mixed with a few Bryants and Chicago States. We don't fit in there very well. DePaul, on the other hand, played Missouri State and Drake last year. They are not avoiding us because of our RPI or conference or becuase we are local.
