Interesting. I did not know that. Although, ESPN and others have been referring to us as "Loyola (IL)" since I came to Loyola in 2002.
It's the parenthesis that is annoying.
It's not like there are schools named "Loyola University Chicago" all over the place such that you have to differentiate. Loyola Chicago or LUC is the way to go, IMO.
Maybe branding us as Loyola Chicago would help us get more Chicago recruits
