I may have missed a part of the event. I was having issues with my feed.

I had the stream up in the background, and caught a good bit of it. I don't remember there being a scrimmage at MM when I was a student, either.

All I saw from the men's team was player and coach intros, the co-ed three point contest, and the dunk contest (won by Nick Osborne). I did see the women's team running up and down a bit, but they seemed to just be doing layup drills.

Scrimmage Tuesday though! I'm sure you will see some reports here.

What was the ESPN coverage of the Shockers like?

I recall a scrimmage several of those years. It didn't look like a scrimmage because there was no defense, but it was there.

Nonexistent from what I've been told. There was a brief interview with Marshall done by Len Elmore and then I guess sometime at the end of their stuff they showed a dunk by our FR guard Ria'n Holland. I'm guessing they showed at least a small portion of the Final Four ring ceremony, but I haven't heard. I don't get the U but everyone seems very disappointed that there was next to nothing. We knew we wouldn't get the coverage of a Duke or Kentucky, but feel a little ripped off that they really didn't show anything at all.

I made it out to Midnight Madness. Although I had hoped there would be more students in attendance, there were more than in previous years. So at least the trend is in the right direction. Having been a student during the Burmeister/Farmer/Piderit Era, the gameday atmosphere isn't even comparable. I remember years when it appeared to be a struggle to find girls to be a part of the cheerleading/dance squads. The Gentile Arena will be a fun place to watch a game when it's fully packed. I'm anxious to see how the increased season ticket sales translate to gameday attendance. As far as the event, it was a pep rally - no more, no less. Porter came out in-disguise as LU Wolf and did a dance routine with the spirit squads. I was underwhelmed with out 3-point contest performance - I hope it had everything to do with the relaxed atmosphere of the night. The dunk contest would have been better without a time limit. Milton Doyle was attempting a dunk over Porter's 4 kids who were lined-up like runway lights. He ran-out of time before he could get everyone set-up perfectly. I will say this, we will be witness to quite a few highlight reel dunks from Milton this year. Towards the end of the evening, a tutorial on how Duke students choreograph their body movements while opponents are shooting free throws was conducted. Oh, and the Big E (Doug Elgin) was in attendance.

Does anyone know how season ticket sales are going? Up I hope!
