The MVC has surged up from 13th to 11th on the strength of Bradley and UIC's performances. If the A-10 gets some good wins and avoids bad losses, the 8th place is in reach, because the American Athletic Conference is struggling with new members Florida Atlantic, North Texas, UAB, UTSA, Rice, and Charlotte not making up for the loss of Houston, Cincinnati, and UCF.
-- Long Beach State beat DePaul and Michigan on the road, but lost to Illinois State on a neutral court. LBSU also beat Iona, which has former Loyola assistant Patrick Wallace and last year's video coordinator Kyle Washington on their staff under Head Coach Tobin Anderson.
