Loyola swept a doubleheader today, and UIC split one, to put the two teams in a tie at the top of the HL softball standings at 12-4 each. |

Today Loyola is playing a double header at home against Wright State, while UIC is playing Cleveland State at home in a doubleheader. If Loyola can win 2 of 3 against WSU, and UIC goes 1-2 against Cleveland State in the three games this weekend, Loyola wins the HL softball title outright. Right now, Loyola is winning game 1 3-2, and Cleveland State is beating UIC 7-1. |

Loyola and UIC both split doubleheaders today. So there's a tie at the top of the softball standings at 15-5. Since UIC owns the tiebreaker, Loyola will have to win and depend on a UIC loss tomorrow against Cleveland State to decide HL softball regular season crown. |

Loyola and UIC both won on the final day of the regular season to finish the conference 16-5. UIC wins the regular season softball championship on the basis of the tiebreaker (winning 2 of 3 head-to-head against Loyola, which was at UIC). Not sure if Loyola gets any points toward the McCafferty Trophy race by virtue of a tied conference record.... Loyola could get points by winning the conference championship, which begins May 8 at UIC. |
