I got to watch Miles play Curie again last night in the CPL Semifinal game. The game went to 4 overtime’s. And Miles played every single second of the game. Curie’s game plan this time around was much different. On offense they settled for far more mid range jump shots and three pointers. They slowed the pace of the game, and tried to drag Miles out from under the hoop. The slowing of the game really worked in Curie’s favor. Miles was still able to change the game. He recorded 6 blocked shots and altered at least 6 other ones. On offense it was a different story. Simeon really struggled to get the ball to Miles where he could go to work. The entry passes to him were poor or nonexistent. Miles only had 4 points on 2 shot attempts through regulation and three overtime periods, but he took over in OT4. He had a sweet slash through the lane for a layup, snatched an offensive rebound from a defenders hand to score, and sunk two clutch free throws with 17 seconds left. He also came out of nowhere for a chase down block that certainly saved the game from a fifth overtime. Miles finished with 10 PTs, 7 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 2 assists in 48 minutes.
