Transferred to BC and promptly did nothing there.

I'm 100% convinced that we would have made the tournament at some point in those next two years with Blair and Schilb

The fact that Porter chose not to sign a big with his last two scholarships implies that Negron and Chastain are doing well in their rehab and Porter believes they should be able to play productively next year.

Hi there, current student at Loyola and one of the bigger die hard fans. Been following this blog and other sources on twitter for awhile now but this is my first post. Just figured I would say I actually ran into Taylor Bruniga with the coaching staff and the Bruniga family going around campus over the weekend, seemed to be enjoying it (especially his parents). Think he would be a huge get for us but just difficult with our current scholarship situation.

Welcome Dansen!

I saw we were his last visit this weekend, good to hear it seemed they were enjoying themselves (also good to hear a student on the ground is saying hello, small stuff like that really helps build the culture!). It'll be interesting to see what happens. I'm curious if our offer changed from a 4 for 4 to a 4 for 5 with a paid redshirt his freshmen year. Either that or maybe Tyson would get a medical release and finish off school here but not play with the team. Given what we recruited this year he'd be icing on the cake, but stealing a top target from ISU would make it all the sweeter.

Hope they popped in at the Research and Engagement Symposium. Research and etc. were presented by well over 250 LU undergrads. All VERY impressive. I was an alum evaluator and it was cool. I really think Alumni relations are doing some very good things and I think that bodes well for athletic outreach to alumnus. I would also encourage all of you to get active in some of the alumni activities. If you are hiding cuz you know they will go after ya for donations eventually ....well y r probably correct....But alumni involvement makes the school more attractive to potential athletes????

I think that's right. Negron is farther along than Chastain, but both should be good to go by November. Chastain is next in the Turk/Doyle line... Moser keeps talking about how he's gained 20 lbs.

I look at it this way: Kirby averaged 9 minutes a game. As long as we can get more minutes than that from Krutwig, Negron,
and Chastain (which we damn well better from three guys), we'll end up being a bigger team overall. Donte playing the 3 at 6'6" will be good for us. As long as Moser wants to play one of those three guys with Jackson at the same time.

Krutwig will have to get his body into shape, but it's nice that he's local so he can get to our gym all summer.

When was the last time we were actually concerned about somebody getting too big?? Haha, I totally agree though, all of our freshmen have a big leg up in terms of being so close to the weight room. Exciting to see.

Also it's early, but figuring out what our rotation will certainly be fun for this upcoming year. We'll have a lot more options.

I'll probably start a thread about this at some point, but *IF* we actually have 13 healthy scholarship players, that's going to be a dramatic change from recent years. Last year we had Igor (remember him?) who left after like 3 days, Vlatko who wasn't seen for the last eight games, Townes redshirting, Chastain injured, Tyson recovering... we only had 8-9 healthy guys for most of the year. We might see more of a Wichita State system this year where 10 or more guys average 10 minutes each.

With all of this late recruiting still happening, what do we think the chances are of Tyson still being with the team next year? Personally in his first season I loved having him on the team, and I've had classes with him and actually really enjoyed working with him on projects. But with his minutes way down (albeit due to recovery) and the fact that PM is still pushing hard for recruits, do we think there's a chance he is not with the program? I'm conflicted because I really like Tyson, still remember how big he could be with instant offense (Notre Dame stands out for me) but I also like the idea of adding somebody like Bruniga.
