Here is the NCAA men's soccer tournament bracket:

Loyola and UIC had three common opponents: DePaul, Northern Illinois, and Northern Kentucky.
We beat DePaul 2-0 on the road, and UIC lost there, 4-0. We beat Northern Illinois at home,2-0, and UIC got a 1-1 draw in DeKalb. We beat Northern Kentucky at home, 1-0, and UIC beat them 4-0.
Notre Dame awaits the winner.

Too lazy to look this up. How do you resolve ties in the tourney?

If I recall correctly, it is the same as it is for the Valley tournament. If the teams are tied after the 90 minutes, they play a 10 minute period with the first team to score wins. If no one scores, they switch sides and play a second 10 minute period with the same rules. If no one scores after the second overtime period, the game is decided by penalty kicks.

I think they used to have a series of OTs until it was over-- some of the championship games in the 80s went into six or eight overtimes. A good friend's brother was on the 1982 & 83 University of Indiana national championship team, so I remember some of those games being absurd.
But as of several years ago, it's penalty kicks after two 10-minue overtimes.
U.S. collegiate rules
In NCAA college soccer rules, all matches that remain tied after ninety minutes have an overtime period. A sudden death golden goal rule is applied, with the game ending as soon as an overtime goal is scored. If neither team scores in the two ten-minute halves, the match ends in a draw unless it is a conference or national championship tournament match. A playoff game tied after two overtime periods then moves to a penalty kick shoot-out with the winner determined by the teams alternating kicks from the penalty mark.

UIC looked strong for the first 15 minutes and then that went away and they couldn't connect passes. First goal was a nice one and that second to clinch it was great. At the end of the game #4 on UIC kicker our player Thompson right in the knee and was shown a red for it. That is an awful play on him and he should be suspended if this isn't his last game.

Big crowd. Mostly UIC fans, I think.
