Steve Watson the AD made the announcement so you know it is official.'

This man knows how to get things done! Assuming there was money involved he evidently found it.

Nice! Glad we can watch the Ramblers play at least one more game at home this season. This also gives the administration sufficient time to get the word out and get people at the game. Having the Joe at 3/4 of capacity probably covers the cost.

Well, they have a little bit more time to market the game for this one, so that's good. I'm trying to figure out if the athletic department and the administration have a lot of faith in this team, or if it was just a battle of two schools who didn't want to fork over the money. Either way, I'm glad that we have another home game. It still has not set in that Loyola is playing in a postseason tournament! Now, in some ways I almost feel like this is better for our program than going into the NCAA tournament this year and being somebody's whipping boy. Our team is getting a taste for success that should carry into next season quite nicely. I'm pretty worried about having to play this team on Monday, but I guess it's good that we have them at home.

It will be March 23rd and the ramblers are still playing basketball! Does this feel weird to anybody else ????

I know you're a pretty reliable source of information Streak...but I thought I would also post the official word from the MBB twitter.

Nice !! Well, someone explain to me--Normally in Post season a team especially if it wins gets money--not pays money. Seems as if we are being penalized for playing and winning.
Now then why would we announce that we would travel ?? It now appears that we are being or had been seeded, correct ?/ If so it does appear as if we are now getting some respect--except of course in Chicago and in the Student gathering areas.

GO RAMBLERS !!!

This is shockingly great news! Doesn't this news have to prove that admin is truly committed to this team?

Steve Watson is a class act and Loyola is showing a willingness to try and build a solid future in their basketball program.

I missed Tuesday because of work commitment but wild horses could not keep me away from this next installment of "The Renaissance!"

See you all Monday.

Brot - That's one of the reasons that a lot of the "major" programs refuse to play in the CBI or the CIT. They're not willing to cough up the money unless they are promised to play against teams that would draw crowds large enough in order to cover the cost of the game. I think some programs with larger fan bases could definitely make a profit hosting CBI games, but most of those programs see the CBI as more of a nuisance than an opportunity. In all honesty, this is probably one of the weakest CBI brackets that I recall in the last few years. Nonetheless, it's still an opportunity for our team to continue developing and gaining some valuable post-season experience.

I'm glad the administration stepped up and offered to host the game. If UCSB had beaten ORU, we would be playing at UCSB.
